Job Description:
The Clinic Care Technician is primarily responsible for providing clinical assistance for patient care. These duties may include greeting and rooming patients, interview patients to obtain a limited medical history and obtain vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature), document in patient chart or electronic medical record. This position will also be responsible for stocking and cleaning exam room per clinic and infection control policy, order and maintain clinic lab supplies, and all other duties as assigned. This position will also have responsibilities for assisting with clerical duties as assigned. This position may float to support other areas as assigned.Education Qualifications:
This Clinic Care Tech will be scheduled for vacation coverage, and will be considered a casual position.
Key Responsibilities:
Supports and assists providers and clinical staff with administrative and select patient care tasks.
Supports patient scheduling and work queue needs as assigned.
Follows up on no-shows and works with providers to review and approve add-ons.
Greets patients, supports virtual visits, completes identification verification, height, weight and vision and hearing screening, and informs patients of wait time.
Chaperones exams as needed.
Administers questionnaires and documents in electronic medical record, enters or edits outside results and prepares patient forms for providers signatures.
May perform specific patient care tasks based on training.
Processes incoming mail, scans, copies, and faxes as needed, prints and updates forms, answers internal phone calls, and may place office supply orders.
Cleans, prepares, organizes and re-stocks clinical areas and maintains supplies.
Cleans procedure and exam rooms between patients and at end of day.
Stocks and supplies exam rooms, performs regular reviews of expiration dates, and maintains linen levels.
Cleans and ensures proper maintenance for equipment as assigned.
Performs daily crash cart checks, monitors, and empties sharps containers.
Performs routine safety checks on fire extinguishers, safety lights, eye wash stations and oxygen tanks.
Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior work experience in a clinic setting
Customer service skills
Ability to follow direction and perform tasks within scope of role
Experience in healthcare or patient care experience
Experience using electronic medical record
Medical terminology
