Monitoring Technician (0.6 - 0.9FTE)

Job Description

Education Qualifications:

Educational Requirements:
  • Completed course work in a medically related field such as nursing assistant, medical assistant, nursing, EMT, paramedic, respiratory care, or rhythm interpretation.

OR

  • Experience in a health-related field.


St. Mary's Medical Center - Duluth:

  • Requires a basic knowledge of medical terminology


 

Required Qualifications:

  • Must pass basic heart rhythms test (90% is passing) within 30 days of employment.

This is a Flex position - 24-36 hours per week. This position will rotate Day/Evening/Night shifts. Starting base pay $17.99/hr.

This role allows you to continue contributing to patient care and healthcare without the physical demands and direct interactions that come with CNA or EMS work. As a Monitor Tech, you can use your knowledge and skills to support patient care through the critical task of monitoring and interpreting heart rhythms, ensuring that any significant changes are promptly communicated to the medical team.A monitor tech's primary responsibilities include:1.Observing and Interpreting Heart Monitors: They continuously watch the heart monitors of patients in the ICU, looking for any irregularities or significant changes in heart rhythms.2.Interpreting Heart Readings: They analyze the data from heart monitors to identify patterns or abnormalities that may indicate a patient's health status is changing.Assists with the technical and non-technical aspects of cardiac monitoring of patients. Troubleshoots the monitoring equipment, is knowledgeable in all of the functions of monitoring equipment, recognizes heart rhythms, communicates changes in heart rhythms, and prepares the patients for monitoring.
