Our Wahpeton team is looking for an Advanced Practice Clinician to join the Internal Medicine Department. This is a great opportunity for a new or seasoned clinician to build and grow their practice with a supportive team in a high-quality and patient-centered environment. The current team consists of Family Medicine, Internal Medicine & Pediatric MD’ & APP’s, Chiropractor, Optometrist, and General Surgeon’s. This is a busy primary care practice with excellent medical specialty outreach and an on-site Ambulatory Surgery Center offering outpatient services. The team continues to grow and expand services. The position will include:
- 1.0 FTE, full-time status (36 patient contact hours; 4 hours professional time per week)
- Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
- Care for all adult patients ages 18 and older; mix of Walk-In Clinic & Internal Medicine
- 16-20 patients per day
- Established patient base
- May also provide outreach support at our other senior care communities or satellite clinics.
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, while working both independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. The NP/PA will provide health care to individuals, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in appropriate state (if NP).
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in appropriate state.
- Current certification in CPR
- National certification, in applicable area.
- Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
