Under the direct or indirect supervision of a Pathologist, assists in the preparation, photography and performance of surgical specimen dissections, and human postmortem examinations as required by their facility. Will exhibit problem solving skills of a highly complex nature, participate in Quality Assurance, Quality Control monitoring, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting. May be required to perform specimen accessioning duties, and will participate in research, development, education and technical consultation. Works with the pathologists and the Anatomic Pathology Supervisor and other Anatomic Pathology staff to provide a high-quality product for the pathologists’ interpretation. Shifts will be 10 hours and weekdays (Monday-Friday) only. Occasional weekend hours are voluntary and as needed.Education Qualifications:

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
Certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as a Pathologists' Assistant
OR
Must be a Graduate from a NAACLS accredited Pathologists’ Assistant training program and obtain certification as a Pathologists’ Assistant within 12months of hire or transfer.
