Responsible for organizing and providing care to patients through the process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel based upon their licensure, preparation, and job descriptions. Contributes to the meeting of the mission and goals of the facility and Essentia, and meets the requirements of the Joint Commission if applicable and/or other federal, state, and local regulatory or accrediting agencies.Education Qualifications:
Qualifications:
Minimum of four years of experience as a psychiatric nurse with a working knowledge regarding a broad spectrum of mental health/behavioral conditions and their respective multi-modal interventions.
Demonstrates an understanding of the significant connection between medical and psychological conditions and thus has an ability to view a patient in a holistic manner
Possesses experience and effectiveness with de-escalation of acute crises and behavioral exacerbations. Will complete and maintain CPI training upon hire.
Possesses knowledge of psychiatric medications, their indications, interactions, and side effects.
Current nursing licensure in Minnesota
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or ability to become certified within 1 month from date of hire.
Preferred Qualification:
Experience working as a psychiatric nurse in an emergency department setting
